Advertisements Affliction

Influential. Mysteriously powerful. Appealing ambiguously towards many of today’s American consumers. When we talk about purchasing a daily item or a favored product, we often forget about our influences. Advertisements are certainly a main source of influence amongst all consumers.Advertisements expand knowledge about ALL types of products, whether harmful and beneficial. Advertisement spread false and factual information while trying to influence their viewers into bad customs. While advertisements are receiving enormous profits and negatively affecting all American viewers, ultimately, we have to take action and prevent any advertisements from being displayed towards society: we need to discard the use of advertisements to prevent any appalling influence towards children, lower the rates of criminal offenses, avoid bad health risks towards our society and stop any discriminating displays towards certain groups.
People need to stop the function of advertisements amongst society so that others can avoid health risks relating to advertisements. Advertisements always tend to target consumer interests. These advertisers often use images to attract individuals to purchase a curtain product. Obesity and other health risks are some of the harmful factors food consumers may encounter , as Ray. Edmond, author of “Advertisement Disorders” affirms,” there are people getting fatter due to the unhealthy food that we are exposed to, there are many other teenagers that find their only solution in anorexia and bulimia.”(Ray.43). Ray is informing us about the ways advertisements target their consumers. Ray maintains that children are being constantly exposed to advertised junk food and shows that consumers get unhealthy and this take major courses to mend to their physical problems. However that is not the only reason why advertisements shouldn’t be functional. We also have to include advertisement impact on consumer mentality, as Mary Dome, author of “Advertisements Body Satisfaction”, asserts “that the impact of images of “Thin ideal” women in advertisements on women with and without prior feelings of body image concerns.”(Mary78). In Mary’s article, the author suggests that advertisements provoke women images. There are advertisements that set certain “perfect” figures that will most likely leave women feeling inferior. Certain advertisement images will only cause women to take major causes and create an unhealthy process for themselves. Honestly, I can’t help but wonder why people use advertisements to make money while affecting groups of people. Most of the time advertisements label women and place price over women bodies. Have American advertisers really gone so far to try to make money targeting and hurting women? Is affecting health conditions of millions of American lives is a good reason to make money? Advertisements using peoples physical and mental health to appeal to consumers will lead to a disastrous future filled only with money.
We also need to prevent the function of advertisements so that no appalling influences affect our children.Its bad to support the use of advertisements because they cause children to become selfish. Advertisements can influence children to do attempt bad things , as Day Nancy , author of : “Advertisements Information” affirms, “ Advertisements for clothes emphasize peoples need for clothing. Stealibng a brand style wouldn’t be occurring if advertisements didn’t influence kids sense of choice. (Nancy45). Nancy is saying that if advertisements didn’t advertise the products in the first place ; children couldn’t attempt to steal brand named clothes. If advertisements were not functional then children wouldn’t have anything to encourage them to attempt to steal.
But that’s not all , advertisements also shouldn’t be functional because they encourage children to enter adulthood at a much earlier age , as Dina Henm , author of “Advertisements for the Cause” , asserts, “ The need for immediate gratification can lead to using drugs, comforting oneself with food or having irresponsible sex.” (Dina 67). In Dina’s article , the author states that superficial life is create by advertisements. Without the use of advertisements children wouldn’t believe in various ways of calming themselves down. However , the advertisements right now is creating an urge that might affect their viewers. The author sayas that advertisements encourage people to be what they want to be. These advertisements tell people to use products to recover from the difficulties of life. Honestly I cant help but wonder about the next generation. People were all noble and didn’t care about a brand of clothes , but now its different. I think advertisements will cause children to attempt things that they are not ready to face. These advertisements will affect childrens lives greatly and the their future will most likely be affected by their actions caused by advertiseing influence. Advertisors only want to make a profit out of consumer interests , so I believe that advertisements should be banned. All advertisements do is make money and make our viewers behavior and future even worse than the intended.
Preventing the functions of advertisements will also lower the rate of criminal offenses towards sexual desires. Advertisements shouldn’t be allowed because they increase the rate of sexual crimes, as Vine Gine , author of “ Advertisement World” ,affirms, “….. There sexual desires are created by the brands that companys use as logos. Advertisements expolt womens bodies and use them for personal gains. Advertisements provoke men into natural instinct and tell us to hunt down and rape women. There are advertisements that influence us and some that do not influence us. Personally I believe that advertisements shouldn’t be allowed into society because they are a bad influence towards the nation. Advertisements are the cause for dramatic changes within our nation. Crime rates are caused by impulse. If advertisements were banned , the rate of crimes involving sexual desires would lessen and the usage of women on company labels and brands would be used less. Women would have more morality and the world would be in a more peaceful state. Whereas at the moment people are being hurt by crimes every minute.

Lastly, preventing the function of advertisements amongst our society can stop any type of discriminations towards curtain groups on the media. Advertisements also encourage discriminations so they shouldn’t be allowed into society. Advertisements support discrimination within their texts and movies. They use their ways to express their position to the viewer. Advertisements shouldn’t be offered to the public because it will create more discriminations towards certain groups of society. This event will most likely cause even more problems in the future. Discriminations will influence our children and teach us false information about certain groups of people. Advertisements can easily lie about certain groups of people and discrimination within advertisements hellp spread ideas about rascism and other religious and other ideas very fast. Honestly , I believe that advertisements only exist to make money for individual people. These people defend this business because they make a lot of money using discrimination for social consumption. If Advertisements were not here ,disccriminations would be less known to the public and more ideas about society rather than inviduial attention would be avavilbe to the public.

Although I believe that advertisements should be banned from society , some say that advertisements are beneficial because they provide funding towards internet services and government programs. I admit that to some extent advertisements spend some of their money on the government and internet services. They pay for most of own services and create new benefical programs for us. However , advertisements only invest little of their profits towards these programs. Rather than using the profit they earn to provide more aid to the country , they use the money on more advertisements. Advertisements are actually in fact wasting hard earned money to trick consumers into purchasing even more products. In fact the advertisements themselves are a waste of money. The government isn’t making any money at all because they are creating anti-advertisements that cancel out funded advertisements. In other words , they support advertised products then create even more advertisements to repeal products. This action wastes money within our nation. Some people also say that advertisements are good for the nation because they educate our society. I agree to some degree that advertisements education the world about certain things. These advertisements tell us information about the market , and new ideas that are bound to become ideal. However , I believe that using advertisements to educate is unnecessary because advertisements only inform us about the outside world. Real education is what schools are here for. Whereas advertisements are used to influence people, ; schools are there to educate people.
Without a solution to the function of advertisements , viewers all over the world will continue to be affected by their effects. As long as advertisements are being used , people will continue to face problems within daily life. Advertisements have the power to affect our choices. These advertisements can influence, support or even harm us. However the usage of advertisements thus far has only proven to be insignificant. Advertisements shouldn’t be functional because it will prevent health problems , stop discrimination , lower crime rates and a lot more. Living along with other people within a society equally without money is better than living alone with money.

FREE RESPONSE

1) Its asking how much sand is removed , so the function (R) from 0 to 6 will give us our answer.

6
| 2 + 5sin(4pie/25) dx
0

fnInt ( 2+ 5sin(4pieX/25) , x , 0 , 6)

~ 31.815

About 32 yds^3/Hour

2) Since sand is being distributed and lessened at the same time , we need a Y(t) formula that will represent the amount of sand distrubuted after the removal of sand by sea.

So

y(t) =
6
| ( r(t) - s(t) ) dt + 2500
0

3) To find the rate at which the sand is changing at T =4 . We plug in for t and solve.

So..

2 + 5sin(4pie4/25) dx - 15(4)/ 1+3(4)

= 6.524 - 4.615

~ 1.909

The sand is changing by around 2 yds/Hour at T = 4

4) To find the amount of sand on the beach we find the critical points by finding the derivative of the y(t) formula and solving for possible minimums.

Well , Am feeling lazy lol. So.. Ill conclude that (0,6) are endpoints.

So .. Ill plug these into the y(t) are see which one is the most reasonable answer.

T=0
Rate of change is 2

T=6
Rate of change is -2.116

T=6 is the minimum.

Minimum value is 2506.725 yrds^3/hour at T= 6

Edit of Theorem

1) The Mean Value Theorem states that on a continuous and differentiable function there is a point where the slope of the function is parallel to the tangent line.If the constant C is between the interval of [a,b] , there is at least one point when the secant line is parallel to the tangent line.

OMG is took me 30 minds to do the graph -_-

The graph shows that after much unwanted calculations for the secant and tangent lines, they appear to be parallel because their is a Constant on the curve of the function that makes the tangent line parallel to the secant line.

2) The Mean value theorem doesn't apply because at x=0 the slope of the tangent line is undefined. Thus there would be no point that is guaranteed to be a point C in the intervals [a,b].
God says that the mean value theorem only works for continuous functions , but this one is a discontinuous.. So god is right. I think.

MEAN value theorem

  1. The mean value theorem means that the graph is continuous , differentiable and defined thoughout the function. The graph shows two parallel lines that are passing through points [a, f(a)] and [b , f(b)]. The theorem states that within [a,b] , there is a point where the slope of the parallel lines are the same.

The graph shows a jump discontinuity and a corner .
( I used Eric's example )

The function is on the interval of [0,7] and shows a discontinuous function. It is clearly shown that
points A to B has a slope that is not parallel to the rest of the function. Points C to D show a corner discontinuity.
This shows that when X=5 there is a corner. and the slope of the line between C to D is =0 , therefore Undefined. Since the slope of each
portion [a,b] and [c,d] are different slopes , the Mean Theorem cannot apply to a discontinuous function because their isnt a point where the slope of the differential function is equivalent to the derivative .

F(X) TO F'(X)

  1. The function of increasing where the output is positive. So at intervals (-2 , o ) U (0 , 2)is where the function is increasing. It is decreasing then the y- output is negitive , so at X=( - oo -2 )and( 2, 00) . You can tell that f(x) is increasing or decreasing because f(x) tells you the positions of the graph.
  2. There is an Max extrema around positive and negative 1.3 since there is not other points at a higher point. And a Min - Extrema at X=0 because that is the lowest point on the graph. Negitive and postitive 2 cannot be an extrema because itll just keep going down.
  3. Refering to the graph its concave up at (-2,-1) and (0,1) and concave down at (-1,0) and (1,2). You can conclude these concavities by looking at the velocity's slope Refering to the theorm stating about the rule of concavities.
  4. Iono , I think its a x^4 function. Because of the position of the graph.

Test Review

I averaged a score of 70% mainly because of the careless mistakes I made when attempting the derivitive problems. The Free response questions helped me recieve most of my points lol. Overall, I learned How to graph the acceleration with respect to time ,mainly because of Hwangs hand out . As for the mistakes on the derivitive problems , It was either a problem with the method I used to solve for the derivitive or a mistake in procedures. Such mistakes include the formula for product , and quotient rules or constent mistakes in the chain rule involving the use of trig material.
